Carpenter (concrete structures)
Auburn Constructors LLC seeks a dedicated and experienced Concrete Form Carpenter with a strong background for installations of formwork, embeds, anchor bolts, concrete placement, and miscellaneous metal installations.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties
- Knowledge and experience of various types of structure formwork for footings and walls, scaffolding and framework.
- Measure, cut, assemble and install forms, embeds and anchor bolts. Includes constructing and erecting built-in-place or prefabricated wood forms.
- Construct and erect gang form systems.
- Secure and brace formwork for proper dimensioning per plans and drawings.
- Place and finish concrete surfaces as required.
- Install embeds and anchor bolts.
- Assemble and install embeds and other miscellaneous metal components.
- Handling and securely rigging formwork and other components.
- Safely operate tools and equipment including electric saws, cut-off grinders, hand tools, levels, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, saw-zall, etc.
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities for responsibilities and duties.
- Ability to follow and communicate instructions.
- Proficiency in the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools, and layout tools.
- Ability to work from a ladder, platform, manlift, or scaffold without issue.
- Must have most ordinary carpentry hand tools

General Laborer (pipefitting/equipment installations/general labor)
Auburn Constructors LLC seeks a dedicated and experienced Construction Specialist (Laborer) with a strong background for installations of underground and above grade pipelines, precast, pipe supports, process equipment setting and other typical treatment plant components.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties
- Knowledge and experience of various types of pipe and pipe systems, including flanged, mechanical, socket welded, threaded, grooved and fused joint systems.
- Measurement, fabrication, preparation and installation of piping systems.
- Positioning, supporting, and anchoring pipe and equipment components.
- Hydro testing of pipe systems.
- Handling and securely rigging pipe and equipment.
- Layout, install, and anchor equipment, skids, tanks, pumps, and pipe supports.
- Determine types, sizes, material thicknesses, and quantities of materials to be installed.
- Operate tools and equipment including pipe threaders, cut-off grinders and saws, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, saw-zall, etc.
Qualifications

Operator (heavy equipment operator)
Auburn Constructors LLC seeks a qualified Heavy Equipment Operator for full-time employment. The essential functions of this position are to operate several types of construction equipment, such as backhoes, excavators, reach-lifts, cranes, etc. Also willing to help labor crews on the ground when needed.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties
- Proficient in heavy equipment operation with hands-on experience in digging, grading, hoisting and other construction-related tasks.
- Experience in excavation in and around existing utilities typical to treatment facilities. Trenching for installation of storm drain, water pipes, sewer pipes and other plant utilities a must.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with machinery.
- Ability to operate various types of construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Willingness to assist all crews with other types of work when needed.
- Knowledge of equipment to check and maintain all fluid levels and lubrication.

Estimator

Primary Responsibilities & Duties
- Clearly comprehend the potential scope of work from specifications, drawings and other bid package documents to determine the required estimate contents.
- Calculate quantity take-offs from bid package drawings and specifications for work disciplines pursuant to company methods.
- Inquire and research issues developed pre-bid to vendors, clients and other team members.
- Provide and apply technical expertise, innovative solutions, productivity analysis, and review similar historical data for a complete project cost estimate.
- Evaluate project risk elements for respective estimate adjustments.
- Collaborate with estimating team, vendors and clients to determine the safest, most productive and best quality work approaches.
- Solicit vendors and subcontractors for bids, while also maintaining communication throughout estimating period with addenda and scope of work coordination.
- Prepare preliminary construction schedules, including analysis of material and equipment lead times.
- Prepare, coordinate, and lead bid review meetings.
- Research and review potential projects, attend pre-bid meetings and collaborate with management team.
- Perform additional assignments as required per management’s direction, typically preconstruction duties.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience estimating in the construction industry with knowledge of structural concrete, pipe and mechanical systems.
- Experience in water and wastewater treatment facilities, storm water and freshwater pump stations, water storage facilities, and other water resource/recovery projects favorably preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of unit costs and factors affecting such costs.
- Ability to quickly evaluate and confirm subcontractor proposals.
- Knowledge and experience in alternative delivery methods of contracting.
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software.
- Effective computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office suite, HCSS, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time in order to meet tight bid and proposal deadlines.
- Leadership abilities to pursue large and complex project estimates.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee and supervise construction progress and directly managing field operations.
- Develop and maintain the project schedule.
- Understand and implement purchase orders with vendors and suppliers.
- Understand and implement subcontract agreements.
- Manage the Requests for Information, Potential Change Orders, Clarifications, etc. as they pertain to the project documents.
- Conduct safety inspections and implement Company Safety Program and training.
- Implement Quality Assurance and Quality Control documents.
- Review and process As-Built drawings.
- Manage material and equipment logistics, and maintain project inventory.
- Maintain effective and professional relationships with owners, engineers and contractors.
- Coordinate meeting agendas and prepare meeting minutes when required.
- Evaluate submittals of shop drawings, material data and samples, and take appropriate action based on contract documents.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the construction field. Experience with structural concrete, pipe and mechanical systems a plus.
- Effective computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Goal-oriented and organized leadership.
- Ability to work in an office as well as a job trailer when assigned to a construction project. Conditions in the field will vary and include exposure to outdoor elements such as hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, and noise.
- Must be willing to commute to construction projects located within 75 miles of Sacramento, and be able to stay out of town/overnight on more distant projects.
