Auburn Constructors LLC seeks dedicated and experienced Electricians with a strong background in the construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and related infrastructure. Our projects range from new plant construction to major upgrades, delivering reliable, code-compliant electrical systems that support critical public health and environmental operations.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties
- Underground: Install buried duct banks, concrete-encased conduits, pull boxes, and grounding systems.
- Above-Ground & Building Systems: Pull and terminate wiring, install cable trays, conduit, and raceways; run power and control cabling for motors, pumps, and equipment.
- Power Distribution: Install and connect switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), panelboards, transformers, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Process & Control Systems: Install instrumentation wiring, control panels, PLC cabinets, and SCADA system components.
- Equipment Integration: Wire and connect large motors, pumps, blowers, aerators, chemical feed systems, and other treatment process equipment.
- Testing & Commissioning: Perform megger testing, continuity checks, functional testing, loop checks, and assist with plant start-up and commissioning activities.
- Safety & Quality: Adhere to strict safety protocols (including confined space, lockout/tagout, and hazardous location requirements). Maintain a clean and organized work site.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, foremen, other trades (mechanical, instrumentation, general contractors), and plant operations staff to ensure seamless project delivery. Treat all members of the project team with respect.
- Documentation: Complete daily reports, as-built drawings, and red-line markups as required.
Qualifications
(it is understood that Apprentices will not possess these qualifications)
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license (DIR certification).
- Minimum 4–5 years of verifiable experience as a journeyman electrician, with strong preference for industrial or heavy commercial construction.
- Direct experience in water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, or similar industrial/process facilities is highly preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), particularly as it applies to industrial and hazardous (Class I, Div 1/2) locations.
- Experience with:
- Underground duct bank and conduit installation
- Motor controls, VFDs, and soft starters
- 480V power distribution systems
- Control wiring and instrumentation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and specifications.
- Attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
Additional Information
- Prevailing Wage including fringe benefits (healthcare, dental, 401k).
- Full time, typically 8-hr shifts Monday – Friday.
- Overtime and some weekend work may be required during peak construction phases.
