PGWWTP Electrical Power System Capacity Project
The Work consists of construction to expand the Pleasant Grove Wastewater Treatment Plant (PGWWTP, Plant) electrical supply from Roseville Electric and consolidate the Plant’s emergency generators to a single expandable facility. The Work establishes a redundant feed from the Roseville Electric, prepares the Plant for growth and expanded capacity needs, upgrades the generator facility to permit improved air emission treatment in the future and noise abatement, and consolidates the stormwater collection to the plant drain system on the southern end of the Plant.
The Project work area falls within the Plant’s existing property with ductbank Work in the public right-of-way on Westpark Drive. The Work includes the construction of the following capital improvements: a multi-purpose, CMU block switchgear and generator electrical building (Electrical Bldg No. 3), 12- kilovolt (kV) ductbank from Westpark Drive to Electrical Bldg No. 3, diesel fuel storage for emergency generator operations, and a plant drain pump station for stormwater and facility drain collection. Two, 2,500-kilowatt (kW) generators will be installed in the current Project with space reserved for two additional generators as the Plant expands. Similarly, the bulk diesel fuel storage includes a dedicated 15,000-gallon, double-walled, steel storage tank for each generator with space to add two additional tanks. All stormwater or incidental spills remain on the Plant site and are captured at the new plant drain pump station to be pumped to a detention pond connect to the head of the Plant for treatment. The Work also includes ancillary electrical improvements including installation of new 12 kV conductors and ductbanks for Plant power distribution and the necessary equipment controls and communications.
